The Art Program

The Art Program seeks to allow childeren to develop their ability through both structured studies and personal choice. Believing in the need to build skills, while enjoying the exploration of personal themes and interests, all students from nursery to 6th grade spend time exploring line, shape, color, form, texture, and pattern.

People and Places, the theme in the art room this fall, unifies explorations across groups so children explore self, family, community, as well as our beautiful natural environment.

Our clay program, a favorite with all, brings students through a progression of simple hand-building tools to the sophisticated skill of pulling pots on the pottery wheel.

At Miquon, small classes allow each child to be a known artist, who can pursue passions, become a creative problems solver, and develop a sense of inquiry.
