The Miquon Board

Welcome to the Miquon Board page. Our Board consists of 20 members (13 current parents, 4 alumni/alumni Parents, 2 staff, and our Principal). In addition to our school governance and financial stewardship work, the board is currently focusing on six priorities:

1) Define and articulate a coherent Miquon Progressive curriculum with appropriate assessment model (chair: Julia Finney)

2) Develop a policy/strategy for staff (teacher/admin) recruitment and retention including compensation philosophy (chair: Marie Ford)

3) Evaluate land use/ opportunity to expand campus (co-chairs: John Rosenwinkel and Lee Kaplan)

4) Complete a comprehensive Campus Master Plan intended both to protect our natural assets and infrastructure and to restore the ecology of the creek and valley. (chair: Stephen Gibson)

5) Develop and implement a 21st Century Marketing Plan (chair: Greg Hocking)

6) Cultivate and engage alumni for multiple purposes (chair: Liza Somers)

There are many opportunities for parents to become involved in the work of the board, including attending monthly board meetings, joining a board committee, or simply reaching out to one of the board members. The bylaws, agendas and minutes are posted on this website (password protected) and are a great way to learn what the board is working on.
