Sabrina Diana Scholarship Fund

By Kristin Sanderson

The Deepwater Experiential Education Project is seeking candidates for the Sabrina Diana Scholarship that will support young women from the Philadelphia area in partaking in character and confidence building wilderness canoe trips in the wilds of Ontario, Canada through an organization called Northwaters Langskib. There are up to three scholarships available for a three-week program this summer (July-August, 2014).

The Sabrina Diana Scholarship Fund was created in January 2013 in memory of a beloved sister, daughter, friend, student, leader, and mentor. The celebration of Sabrina’s life in March 2013 pulled together over 100 people and raised funds to provide an opportunity for young women to experience the world in a rare fashion via the vast Canadian  Wilderness.

Female candidates ages 13 – 16 who demonstrate leadership and a thirst for adventure are encouraged to apply. These young women need no prior experience, just the willingness to challenge themselves on the trail, in the group, and within themselves.

For more information please contact Scholarship Fund Founder Portia Sampson-Knapp.

To apply directly, you will need to apply both to DEEP and Northwaters Lanskib.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 30TH, 2014
