9.15 Work Party for Grade 1-6 Families
Saturday, September 15, 9a-1p
All families are expected to come out for this event, rain or shine! There’s something for everyone! We’ll stop work at noon for a hot dog and veggie dog lunch; please feel free to BYO picnic food to supplement the fare.
Projects include planting, garden maintenance, Riparian & Woodland restoration projects, invasive removal, and dune fence installation. There will be a brief pruning tutorial offered at the beginning of the workday.
We are also looking for a small group, with strong backs, to work along with Chris from Biohabitats to help in repacking areas of the stream bank that have been washed away by storm events. Be prepared to get wet!
What to Bring
Pants and long sleeves recommended, and sturdy closed toed shoes. We will be working by the stream, so waterproof boots may come in handy. All tools provided, but feel free to bring your own as well.
And, there’s a boot swap
Have old creek boots that no longer fit your child? Drop them off at the boot swap and shop for a new-to-you pair of someone else’s old boots. Visit the creek boot swap table by the parking lot!
Please pick a project on Signup Genius.
We are looking for Project Leaders! If you’re interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, and thank you in advance.
