Check your contact information so we can send you broadcast messages if school is closed for weather or other emergencies. Take a minute to login to the Parent Portal, click “School Forms Online” in the upper left area of your screen, and check that your “Automated Emergency Announcements” form is completed and up-to-date.

It’s time to begin Financial Aid Applications!

Financial aid helps make a Miquon education possible for approximately 40% of our families! If you typically apply for aid, or if your financial situation or life circumstances have changed (e.g., you’ve changed jobs, you’ve had another child join your family, etc.), now is the time to please begin the financial aid application process. Instructions are found on our website.

EVENTS

Winter Assembly

Parents and extended family are invited to this year’s Winter Assembly, featuring performances from every classroom group. We’ll gather on Fri, Dec 15 from 10 – 11:30 am at First United Methodist Church of Germantown (FUMCOG) for a special day of celebration and Miquon camaraderie. Arrive early (9:30) to find seating; as a courtesy to our children, please plan to remain for the entire performance.

There is no van or bus transportation; all families are responsible for transporting their child(ren) to and from FUMCOG. Please note Miquon and Vacation Care are closed on Dec 15. ; it is recommended that you make child care plans for the afternoon of Dec 15.

Parking details will be including in forthcoming email invitation.

GIRLS ON THE RUN

Online registration is now open for Girls on the Run! Any girl in Grade 3-6 is eligible to participate. No running experience is necessary.

  • Register now through Weds, Dec 13
  • The season begins Mon, Feb 26
  • We will meet and practice Tuesdays 3:15-4:45 pm and Saturdays at 2:00-3:30 pm
  • The end of season 5k will be Sun, May 20

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE

Miquon’s team of nine 4th and 5th graders will be competing with 23 other teams in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) tournament on Sat, Dec 2. Come cheer on the team as their robot attempts to complete complex missions such as making rain fall from a cloud, removing and replacing a broken water pipe, flushing a toilet, or filling a cup with clean water. The competition will be held at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Harris Commons on the West Willow Grove Avenue Campus. Free admission. Open to the public starting at 1:30 in the afternoon.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMS

Register for Winter Break Vacation Care by Dec 12

Miquon will offer Vacation Care 8:00 am – 6:00 pm on the following dates over Winter Break, offering cooking projects, arts and crafts, nature hikes, sports games, and many other exciting activities! Full and half day registration is available.

  • Mon, Dec 18 – Fri, Dec 22
  • Weds, Dec 27 – Fri, Dec 29
  • Tues, Jan 2

Please note we will only be open for the December dates if a minimum of six children are registered each day. Also note cancelations must be received 48 hours in advance in order to avoid being charged.

A fun family event — kids and adults dance together! Great live music, refreshments, no experience necessary. Adults $5, kids $2. This month all musicians are invited to play in the open band! Kindergarten parent Chloe Mohr leads the dancing.

Get the latest information on how to block inappropriate content from your child’s phone before they start using their new presents this December.Katie is coming back to Meadowbrook by popular demand to share more of her findings around technology, cyber security, and the impact on children this year.
