Miquon has been a solidly nurturing, transformative, loving presence in my life for as far back as my memory will take me, beginning in the ‘80s when my mom started her decades-long career as a Miquon teacher, spanning through my journey as a student turned ‘95 alum, and reaching present day where my children are now the lucky ones to be called Miquon kids.
When I was a Miquon 6th grader, I wrote on my yearbook page that I wanted to be a writer when I grew up. Now I find myself back on campus in yet another new role, using my writing background in service of the very community that sparked my creative interest and helped it to grow. This feels like such a gift! I’m so happy to be here.
I’m also an artist, mom to three amazing kids, and am always happiest tromping through the woods (another Miquon influence, no doubt!).
