Apply to Miquon

We are delighted that you are considering Miquon for your child’s elementary school experience. Our admissions process is designed to help families learn about our Progressive, child-centered program while giving us the opportunity to get to know your child as a learner and community member.

Miquon serves students in preschool through 6th grade on our wooded campus in Montgomery County, just outside Philadelphia. We encourage families to follow the steps below to complete the application process.

Step One: Submit an Application

To begin the admissions process, please complete the online application through our Admissions Portal.

Once your application is processed:

  • Additional required steps will appear in the portal
  • You will receive an email outlining next steps
  • Our admissions team will guide you through the remaining requirements

Step Two: Visit the Campus

If you have not already toured Miquon with Caitlin Thompson, Director of Enrollment Management, please schedule a campus visit. This conversation should take place before your child’s visit day.

Families may attend an Open House in place of an individual family tour.

A campus visit is one of the most important parts of the process, allowing you to experience our Progressive classrooms, outdoor learning spaces, and close-knit community firsthand.

Step Three: Submit Required Paperwork

All applicants must submit the following materials:

  • Teacher recommendation form (from current teacher, if applicable)
  • Academic records from the current school

These items can be requested and tracked through the Admissions Portal.

Step Four: Schedule your Child’s Visit Day

Student visits help us get to know your child in a comfortable, age-appropriate setting while giving them a chance to experience daily life at Miquon.

Visit length varies by grade:

  • Nursery and Kindergarten applicants attend a Winter Play Day
  • First grade applicants visit for one morning
  • Second grade applicants visit for one full school day
  • Third through sixth grade applicants visit for two consecutive school days

In some cases, we may request an additional visit or further information. Outside testing is not required. However, if testing has already been completed, we welcome receiving those reports.

Schedule your child’s visit through our Admissions Portal.

Step Five: Meeting with Head of School

Families applying for first through sixth grade will participate in a required 30-minute meeting with the Head of School.

Our team will contact you to schedule this conversation. For convenience, the meeting often takes place on your child’s visit day near drop-off or pick-up time.

Step Six: Decision

Families who meet the December 5, 2025 priority deadline will receive admissions decisions on January 30, 2026.

Enrollment contracts are due by March 1, 2026.

Optional: Applying for Financial Aid

Applications for admission are reviewed independently from financial aid requests. Admission decisions are made without regard to a family’s need for financial assistance.

Financial aid is awarded to eligible families on a first-come, first-served basis.

Priority financial aid deadline for new families: December 12, 2025
