Kindergarten circle time is a time to learn how letters and numbers are used in a context that’s meaningful to them. Each morning circle entails predicting the day’s date, skip counting (counting paper clip chains by 10s) to determine the number of school days held so far this year, charting that number on a hundreds chart, and viewing what that number looks like in written form. Perhaps the most meaningful moment, however, is sharing something personal–today, children showed their falcon glider models and proudly discussed plans for test flights later on.
