Nancy Schmucker

I joined the Miquon staff in 2021 after spending 10 years at Bryn Mawr College as a senior associate director of communications and the associate editor of the college magazine.

I remember my heart skipped a beat when I saw the ad for my current position. Miquon’s work in Progressive education was exciting and refreshing. My own experience as a young learner taught me that there are many different ways to learn and not all children do best in a traditional classroom. Some, like me, do better with hands-on, experiential learning. It is how we “connect the dots.”

I remember thinking that Miquon is giving its students a true gift by showing them the many ways of learning, and that it would be an honor to tell its stories and help advance its mission.

I believe in Miquon even more now that I have seen, first-hand, the commitment and dedication of our very talented teaching staff and administrators. I recognize in them what I know and love about the educators at my alma mater, Bryn Mawr College – a dedication to creating life-long learners who find joy in education and discovery.
