As a child my parents often found me up in my favorite tree, reading a book. So when I saw the opportunity to join the staff at the Miquon School in a dreamy little library in the woods, at a school where children’s independence and creativity are nourished, my attention was piqued. After earning my Master’s in Library Science from Drexel University I spent over ten years as a public Children’s Librarian at the Free Library of Philadelphia, most recently as Early Literacy Coordinator. I have also been involved in the Association for Library Service to Children, most recently serving on the Theodor Seuss Geisel Committee, helping to select the most distinguished books for beginning readers. I am thrilled and honored to share my love of reading, dedication to information literacy, and knowledge of children’s literature with the Miquon community.
