Science Show News

By Kate Shapero

IMG_5015The Art and Science Show is on Tuesday, May 3rd from 5:30-7:00.  Nursery through sixth grade students are invited to share a project or invention with the community in the Moore Building.  This could be something that they worked on in school or at home.  Each piece should be accompanied by a submission form that explains the work and will be displayed next to it.  This form is available below for downloading.

Though we have not focused on inventing as a curriculum topic this year, many students are planning to develop their own creations to share at the show.  If you’d like some tips on how to help your young inventor, please see the attachment below called “Supporting Our Inventors.”

Projects can be brought in on Monday, May 2nd and should be taken home on Tuesday, May 3rd after the exhibition.

Personal projects are optional for nursery through fourth grade students, though all are encouraged to contribute!  This year, fifth and sixth grade students will work in science class to measure and build a 1/6th scale model of the creek (pre-restoration work).  This model will be decorated by every child in the school to create a memorial sculpture that tells the story of why we love our creek.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  I’m excited to see what our children create and hope to see you there!
