Liz Isaac-Herzog is teaching two-year-olds at St. Paul’s Childhood Center, a Reggio-Emilia-inspired preschool in St. Paul, MN. She reports that in this role, she is “always thinking of my Miquon teachers–how much they helped us discover, but more importantly how they SAW us. Thank you for that,” she says.

Sandra Perloff Morris ’56 reports that she has been a family law attorney for 49 years and currently the head of her law firm’s family law department. She is past president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, mother of three, and grandmother of seven. She says, “I credit Miquon with so much–a lifelong love of learning, of nature, and a foundation of equality of all human beings that remains unshakeable.”

Parker Vanderslice-Lamas ’03 and his partner Anu Thomas became parents on November 7, 2018 with the birth of Amaliya Themis Parker-Thomas.

Carmen Winant ’96  is the Roy Lichtenstein Endowed Chair of Fine Art at Ohio State University. Her work was recently shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She also regularly publishes art criticism. Carmen and her husband, artist Luke Stettner, have two children and are active in progressive politics in Columbus, OH.

Gabe Winant ’98 is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge MA. He completed his PhD in labor/economic history at Yale in May; his dissertation is forthcoming from Harvard Press. Along with his scholarly work, Gabe writes widely for progressive magazines, commutes to visit his girlfriend in Chicago, and works for progressive candidates.

Johanna Winant ’94x (attended Miquon through grade 4) is an English professor, specializing in modernism, at West Virginia University; she’ll be a visiting scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study at Notre Dame for winter semester 2019. She and her husband (poet and WVU faculty member Geoff Hilsabeck) have two children and are active in feminist and Quaker politics in Morgantown. They both also write for public audiences as well as academic presses.
