I first became acquainted with progressive education in 2010 when we enrolled our oldest child at a similar progressive pre-K through 6 school, The School in Rose Valley (SRV), near our home in Delaware County.
As l learned more about progressive education and saw how well it served our son, I became a huge believer in and proponent of progressive pedagogy, so was thrilled to join Miquon’s vibrant community as a staff member. As the Director of Finance and Operations, I help to ensure the financial vitality of the school by bringing together finance, human resources, facilities, and other operations in order to provide more comprehensive operations oversight as well as a more strategic view in planning for the future.
Early in my career, I spent many years as a consultant in corporate financial process design and management. Most recently, before joining the Miquon staff, I served as Director of Business Administration at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church.
Aside from my Miquon work and family, my other passion is music: I am a singer and a voice teacher; I believe that everyone can sing and I am passionate about helping people “find their voice,” both literally and figuratively.
