Today’s celebration entailed a Belizean feast to honor Mark’s culture. Children were each given $5.00 to “order” from a menu of stewed chicken ($1.50), rice and beans ($0.80), plantains ($0.45), and powder buns ($0.30). They placed their orders, tallied their total money owed, and then calculated and made change with a teacher cashier. Then, the delicious feast began! Each child had a menu favorite.
