Miquon Engineering at its Best

By Kristin Sanderson

When the fair organizers looked for a group to do a “dunk bucket” activity for the Miquon Spring Fair, several of the fifth and sixth graders cheerfully volunteered. Using an incomplete prototype provided by teacher Lynn Hughes, the students and parent volunteers secured the uprights on the basketball backboard near the Playbarn on Thursday. Students then used power tools to put the rest of it together on Friday, figured out the right distance for the chair, and created a wonderful combination ring-toss and bean bag game that was the activity that triggered the dumping of the bucket.
